Well hello everybody! I am well and in Babati in an internet cafe, we are working building classrooms for a school in Warangari outside of Babati its quite rural so only internet at weekends sorry no posts as yet! Hope all is good in England? Please tell me news! I havent as yet received any emails from anybody really?! Thanks though Carly. Well we've just been building the classrooms-hard work chucking bricks and cementing (mudding) and putting the bricks, learning gradually! We have also been making a fish pond for the school so they can have a fish farm to sell fish and get money for the school. Its all good fun! Have had our first football match against the local team....got destroyed but it was good fun none the less. Have been to church this morning which was good, fairly african. We have a rota thing going where we are in Buddys...Mum guess who I'm with!!! haha. but yeah and we get a day off a week from working and we have to cook the meals for the team and clean up, also time to do our washing and relax. Apart from that its pretty hectic. So whats the news in England? I'd love to hear from you all?? My life for the next 5 weeks will pretty much be the same I think but I'll try to update when I can! By the way I'm enjoying the 30 degrees heat....bit hot for working but a very nice change from -10. Anyway for everyone whos reading this please pass it on to anyone who would be of interest. Dad please pass onto grannys and jean and remind everyone to write to me! Well lots of love to you all and God bless, I've probably forgotten 100 things to say but done lots and cant remember so fast to put it down! Take care. Charlotte xxxxxx

ReplyDeleteDear Charlotte wonderful to hear from you thanks for the news and pics you look fantastic. really miss you and talked about you in JfL on Friday. James is growing so fast and had his eyes open for some of the time. Julie and Alistair (Physio and solicitor) announced they are expecting July 29th so that will be just timed for you coming home!!
ReplyDeleteDid you go to Church on your own? How many people are there in your group? What is the male/female ratio for all that building?
Fiona Castle evening is going really well and beginning to hot up which is great 160 tickets gone so far everyone seems to be excited especially Fiona, which is amazing considering she does one at least every week. She has said we can take an offering for the charity of our choice so we are doing it for the Burma pigs and goats (we think we are going to call it 'pigoats'
fund or 'poats'!!!) we have helped 60 widows so far. And we are going to share the money with the Duhaga girls school. David and Ann Thomas are going to be there raffling an enormous white teddy cuddling a big red love heart just in time for Valentine's!!! Hope he makes them a lot of money. Dave is making up a slide show to be running on the wall at the beginning of the evening.
On coffee then creche this morning so didn't see many people to talk to. Rosemary is still making a good recovery and is going to help with drinks and bites ar Fiona night she thinks a lot about you.
The Timps are planning on doing a 'Midsummer Night' evening to raise money for the building fund. It sounds great with different groups doing different things, like one does the drinks another the Tombola etc:. People bring their picnic then there is a performing arts group doing the drama at 7.30pm. It will June 20th so you may be thinking of coming home around then!!?? We could have a welcome Charlotte home stall and sell balloons with your best photo on!!! Or turn your blog into a book with photos and sell that to inspire other gap yearers what God can do!!
JfL in Send on Friday was very exciting as we were singing and we could all sense the Presence of God and I prayed for each girl and two were healed on the spot. One had limped in in a lot of pain and walked out fine the other had a shoulder problem which she had had for some time I didn't know about it and it was sorted. God is so good He loves us so much He doesn't want any of us sick as we can't live the full life He sent Jesus for so I am really praying for you to stay strong and healthy. Jeremiah 29:11 don't forget. You have done so well just going; keep focused on Jesus.
Friday watched a very challenging DVD by Joyce Meyer called the 'Love Revolution' all about the facts of world poverty think I told you about it Dave gave it to me for Christmas. All the girls were touched and it was so relevant to our study on 'Jesus laid down His life for us we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers' So we are all praying this week what that means for us in the modern world!!
So we are praying for you as you do just that giving your time and energy. Don't get too tired.
Hope you get this OK and it doesn't take too long to read. You know how I can gas and no one to stop me so it is worse!! Have a brilliant week lots of love, Sue xxxxx
Saw your entry last night just before I ran Ollie back to Bradfield - I've sent him a link and if there is a miracle you may get a comment!
ReplyDeleteDidn't realise you were going to do yer actual building. How are the hands taking it?
The photos look great and you look happy for the cameraperson. We're thinking of you.
It's raining here and there's a gale blowing. And the weather's not much good either.
Lots of love.
